Surface Treatments for Polyester Felts

BWF America, Inc.ce treatments are used in applications when a fine or agglomerating dust needs to be restricted to the cake side surface. By preventing sticky dust penetration into the depth of a felt, longer life, better cake release and lower pressure drops can be achieved. Fibrous dusts also can be separated and released better when a surface treated felt is used.

High-tech polymers are catalyzed and applied to the surface of a high quality base polyester felt. The result is a smooth, porous "skin" made up of hundreds of thousands of microscopic bubbles per square inch. OptiClean presents a seamless surface which allows air flow while it captures fine dust and prevents fibrous particles from attaching to the media.

OptiClean releases the dust cake, keeping the pressure drop low and the filter face clean. An oil and water repellent prevents any fouling of the microporous surface and aids dust discharge.

OptiClean "AS" is an anti-static version with conductive material mixed into the basic OptiClean polymers. Identified by its distinctive green color, the product is generally used in explosive environments or when the dust has high static chargeability.
